Check, install, connect.
And a person if it still won’t.

Device check

Will it work on my phone?

Check the phone in your hand

One tap reads what this phone tells us about itself and gives a verdict, with the reason underneath so you can see why.

The check that settles it, on any phone

Dial *#06# on the phone. If an EID is listed alongside the IMEI, it has an eSIM.

It also has to be carrier-unlocked. A locked phone shows an EID and still refuses the profile, so if the phone came from a network on a contract, ask them to unlock it first.

Phones that take an eSIM

  • iPhone XS, XR and every iPhone since
  • Google Pixel 3 and newer
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and the Z Flip and Z Fold
  • Most flagships from the last few years from other makers

Phones sold in mainland China, and some sold in Hong Kong and Macau, ship without eSIM even when the model name matches. The EID check above is the one that counts.

No eSIM? Use a posted SIM

Business and IoT plans come as a physical SIM as well, posted to you. Routers ship with their SIM in the same parcel. If you are buying for a device with a SIM tray, choose the posted form on the plan.

Install guide

Installing your eSIM

Your code is on Your eSIMs once the order is paid, and in the receipt email. Install on Wi-Fi, before you travel: the plan does not start until you connect at your destination.

iPhone

  1. On iOS 17.4 or later, open Your eSIMs on the phone and tap Install eSIM. That is the whole install.
  2. Otherwise open Settings → Mobile Service (or Cellular) → Add eSIM → Use QR Code and scan the code from another screen.
  3. No second screen? Choose Enter Details Manually and paste the activation code.
  4. Label the new line simsonic, set it as the line for Mobile Data, keep your home SIM for calls, and turn on Data Roaming for the simsonic line.

Android

  1. Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. On Samsung it is Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
  2. Tap Add eSIM (or Download a SIM instead) and scan the QR code, or choose Enter manually and paste the activation code.
  3. Once it is downloaded, turn the line on, make it the SIM for mobile data, and switch on roaming for it.

Install it once and leave it. Deleting the eSIM from the phone uses up the profile; if that happens, contact us with the order number and we will reissue it.

Troubleshooting

When it doesn’t connect

I landed and there is no signal
Turn on Data roaming for the simsonic line, then switch aeroplane mode on and off so the phone looks for a network again. If it still shows nothing after a minute, open the network list under the line’s settings and pick a network by hand.
I am connected but nothing loads
Check the simsonic eSIM is set as the line for mobile data, not only turned on. Your home SIM can stay as the line for calls and texts. On iPhone this is under Mobile Data in the same settings; on Android it is the SIM marked for data.
The QR code will not scan
Choose the manual option instead. On iPhone it is Enter Details Manually, on Android Enter manually. Copy the activation code from Your eSIMs and paste it in.
My phone says the eSIM is already installed
An eSIM installs once, on one phone. If you deleted it, or changed phone, do not try the code again. Tell us the order number and we will reissue the eSIM.
When does my plan start?
When you first connect at your destination, not when you install. Install it before you fly and nothing ticks until you land, or until 30 days after purchase, whichever comes first.
I have run out of data
Top up from Your eSIMs. The same eSIM keeps working, so there is nothing to rescan.
My router has the SIM in but will not come online
Check the SIM is seated fully and the router has restarted since it went in. Then sign in to management.simsonic.com and open the SIM: its status and last session are there, and if it is still in stock rather than active, activate it from the same screen.

Business & resellers

Buying and running lines for other people

Business buyers

Your team dashboard lists every eSIM on the account, lets you assign a line to a person or a device and take it back, and raises top-ups. Invoices and receipts are under Orders.

Deployment teams and IoT

Routers arrive with their SIM already in the parcel. Every SIM, posted or eSIM, shows up on the management console with its usage, sessions and signal, and that is where it is activated, suspended or moved between groups.

Resellers

Selling simsonic under your own name, or bundling it with what you already sell? The reseller track on the contact form goes to the person who sets that up.
