What actually is an eSIM?
A SIM card built into your phone. Instead of a plastic chip you install a data plan from a QR code. Nothing to ship, nothing to swap, nothing to lose in a hotel room.
Will it work on my phone?
Almost every phone released in the last few years supports eSIM: iPhone XS and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, most recent Samsung Galaxy S and Z models. We show compatibility on every plan before you pay, and refund you if your handset can’t take it.
When does my data plan start counting down?
When you first connect at your destination, not when you buy. Install it a week before you fly and nothing ticks until you land, or until 30 days after purchase, whichever comes first.
Can I keep my normal number for calls and texts?
Yes. Your usual SIM keeps your number for calls and texts while the eSIM handles data. Nothing about your existing line changes.
What if I run out of data mid-trip?
Top up from your account in two taps. The same eSIM keeps working. You never rescan a QR code, and we warn you at 80% so it rarely comes to that.
How is a phone number different from data?
A data plan gets you online; a phone number gives you a real local line for calls and SMS in the country you’re visiting, which is handy for bookings and rideshares. You can buy either on its own, or both on one eSIM.
